Electricity has returned to Zanzibar!! It only took 3 months. I am really quite sad that I could not be there to experience the moment that it was restored. I am certain that there are huge celebrations.
I have been receiving text messages from my local friends there telling me of listening to music, charging phones, lights, refrigeration, movies,….
I hear news that a few neighborhoods are still waiting for electricity since cables were stolen during the outage.
