Colorful Teeth

A local custom practiced by many women (especially older women) here in Eastern Niger is to stain their teeth red. The women chew on cola nuts and then dab their teeth with a small round fruit called gorogo. It makes me smile even bigger when a lady flashes me a smile that shows off her pearly reds.

And to answer your question...I am NOT coming home with red teeth
