Back from village home stay
I am back from my village home stay in Malawi. I was just getting ready to write up some of my adventures when the power went out. Unfortunately my battery is running low.
This is the family I stayed with. Mama Joyce is raising her brother’s four children since their parents died. She is also mama to many other kids in the village.
Here is the home (nyumba) that I stayed in
Last but not least, this is the room I slept in. Just me and a chicken (nguku)…how cozy. During the day all of the chickens would take turns coming in and out to lay their eggs. At night one chicken would keep me company and spending the night nesting on the eggs. My bed was actually fairly comfortable after layering clothes on it.
