Natural Wonders

The last two evenings I had the privilege to see some of the natural wonders in the area. The couple I am staying with does not have a car but another family was in the area visiting so we were invited to tag along.

This is what almost all of the countryside looks like surrounding the town I am living in. On my bus ride across Niger I was surprised by how many trees are able to grow in the sand.
One of our evenings was spent by the Niger River. It was lots of fun to walk around and look at the green fields that are able to grow near the river. Other side of the river is Nigeria.

Another evening was spent exploring some nearby sand dunes. A couple highlights at the sand dunes included finding fulgurate (where lightening had struck the sand) and camel teeth.
