When people initially visit here they usually only stay for 5 minutes. So I can’t do my normal routine of sitting down with a group of ladies and listening to them for hours. Men run all the shops in town which eliminates another favorite method for meeting people. It also seems that people tend to be inside during the heat of the day.
Yesterday morning when I was out walking around town trying to visit people I found a group of gals who I could spend time with for a couple of hours. I even found one girl who knew a bit of English which was helpful for my language learning. They invited me back later that day to go to the beginning phases of a wedding. From what I understand the actual wedding with take place on Friday.
