Wedding

On Friday I attended a wedding with some friends. Their cousin was the groom and wedding took place in the village where they grew up. At least I was told that it was a wedding—I never saw the bride or groom.

We took local transport to my friend’s village. While we were waiting I watched goats being loaded onto a similar transport vehicle. To bad I could not get a video, The goat would hop around inside the basket while they were attempting to be tied down.

Prior to the wedding we explored some caves nearby my friend’s childhood home.

Then we collected some mangos to take home.

It rained hard almost the entire day.

We went from house to house visiting and huddling under the eaves. I think the bride and groom were hiding out from the rain.

Spent a lot of time under a banana leaf umbrellas.

We took another transport vehicle home. I think that there were only 3 people hanging off the back of ours and 38 squished inside the back.

This Friday I am supposed to attend another wedding that is in town…hope to see the bride and groom.

Update on power:
Power is still out and the entire island will probably be without power for 3 weeks or maybe 1 month. I have found a friend that has a generator so I can visit them every few days to recharge my phone and computer. I will try to do a blog posting which contains more details on the power situation.

What an intresting way to take the goats for a ride :-) I love mango's how cool to get them right off the trees. I'm glad you were able to charge your battery as I enjoy looking at the posts each morning!!!!

Hope you get to see the bride and groom at the next wedding, and be sure to bring your banana leaves!
You just fit right in, wherever God leads you-what a blessing you are to your friends there.

Still hoping your package will arrive!
